Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 May 2026

By installing or using PocketVault ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English and we recommend you actually read them.

1. What PocketVault is

PocketVault is a desktop application that imports save files from mainline Pokémon games, lets you organise their contents into a personal vault, and (with an account) sync that vault across devices and trade with other PocketVault users.

It is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon and all related names and properties are trademarks of their respective owners.

2. Your account

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Subscriptions and billing

Pricing

Plus and Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout. Prices may change with at least 30 days notice — existing subscriptions are honoured at their current price for at least one renewal cycle after a price change.

Auto-renewal

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You can cancel any time from Settings → Account → Manage subscription.

Refunds

If you're unhappy within the first 14 days of a new subscription, email us at support@pocket-vault.net for a full refund. After 14 days, we don't offer refunds for partial billing periods, but you keep Plus/Pro features until the end of your current period after cancelling.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, your account drops to Free tier. Vault data is retained — when you re-subscribe within 90 days, everything is restored. After 90 days of no Plus/Pro payment, cloud-only data may be deleted.

5. Your data

You own your save files and vault contents. We claim no ownership over the Pokémon you import or store. We won't share your vault with anyone other than friends you've explicitly approved.

See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and how it's used.

6. Trading

Trades between users are atomic ownership swaps verified server-side. Once a trade is accepted, it cannot be reversed except by the same parties trading back. We don't mediate trade disputes.

If a user is found to be using duplicate accounts, hacked Pokémon designed to crash other users' games, or trade exploitation, their account may be suspended without notice.

7. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee 100% availability. Cloud sync, friend search, and trading require our servers to be reachable; the app's offline features (save import, local vault, Pokédex) work without an internet connection.

We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice. Major incidents are communicated via in-app banner.

8. Termination

You can stop using PocketVault any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice except in cases of clear abuse.

9. No warranty

PocketVault is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that save imports will always succeed, that vault data will always be preserved, or that the app will be free of bugs. Always keep backups of your save files and use the Export Vault feature regularly if your collection matters to you.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is zero for Free users).

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via in-app banner and email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the change date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in Australian courts.
